artist statement
My approach to art-making is to think about and question dilemmas in our contemporary world, and bring these ideas to light using visual and sonic forms. Through different media including performance, photography, sculpture, video, and installation, my work focuses on the relationships between personhood, space, place, time, movement, and memory. Often, I connect aspects from the natural world which act as boundaries, like the ocean, to elements of human life, such as the body. By connecting these two elements visually, my goal is to visually create socio-geographic imaginaries that exist in everyday life, but may not be readily apparent.
